Japanese Noh theater mask, Bugaku mask "Taishoutoku"
A man's mask made by the technique of dry lacquer "Kanshitsu" (method of applying layers of hemp cloth between lacquer).
Dance and its accompanying music, which were introduced to Japan from the Korean Peninsula in the 7th century, are called Bugaku. It is also called the world's oldest musical art. This mask is worn when dancing to the song "Taishoutoku".
    Noh
is a major form of classical Japanese dance-drama
that has been performed since the 14th century.
Noh performance combines a variety of elements into a stylistic whole, with each particular element the product of generations of refinement according to the central Buddhist, Shinto
, and minimalist aspects of Noh's aesthetic principles.
