Right from a fine
Early Estate in Knox County Ohio
and I have gleaned from the offerings ... that this family inherited fine objects of art from a distant relative that must have been associated with perhaps a relative of
FRANZ JOSEPH I of AUSTRIA
who was noted to have befriended one of the
RUSSIAN TSARS,
as there was also in the Estate a
LOT OF EARLY RUSSIAN SILVER
and perhaps a gift to FRANZ at some point. Very interesting Estate and certainly a
RARE MUSEUM WORTHY FIND
that I am NOW OFFERING:

PERSIAN STYLE HIGHLY GOLD & ENAMELED DECORATED

is this
11 1/4" x 3 3/4"
ART GLASS VASE
that is certainly the
1848 CORONATION VASE for FRANCIS (Franz) JOSEPH the FIRST by the GRACE of GOD
;
EMPEROR of AUSTRIA; KING OF HUNGARY & BOHEMIA and about 30 OTHER TITLES!
I am assuming PRESENTED AT THAT TIME and has his
PERSONAL MOTTO
in RAISED GOLD ---
VIRIBUS UNITIS
(Meaning "With United Forces") ----- and of course
HIS CROWNED DOUBLE EAGLE SHIELD
(with other crests) all on the front panel.  The obverse shows the ---
WIEN
(Vienna) RAISED GOLD SEAL (Crowned Double Eagle).  Turning the vase you will find it profusely gold decorated "accents - 150 or more" and note the
TYPICAL LOETZ APPLIED GLASS "RASPBERRIES".
In reality, this is an OVERWHELMING VASE and in this TOP CONDITION certainly
BELONGS IN A VIENNA MUSEUM or perhaps YOUR COLLECTION

and died in
1916
and
LOETZ
was formed in about
1840
