Loetz Kralik Art Nouveau Pink Glatt Silberiris Pinched Lobed Iridescent
Art Glass Vase ca. 1900
The vase is signed with a Loetz Austria signature, although it closely resembles the authentic signature, I am not one hundred percent certain. So for this reason, I cannot attribute this to one particular glasshouse. Regardless, the craftsmanship found in this vase is superb, pink opal cased glass covered with colorless glass with a fine glass dust, matt silver iris.
This décor is more commonly referred to as Glatt Silberiris per various websites that document this vase.
The vase has a magnificent, highly reflective iridescence and beautiful texture, shimmery hues of purple blue and silvery gold illuminate and dance about in the light. The body is square with a pinched lobed form and long cylinder neck.
This piece is quite spectacular.
The vase is considered to be in good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration noted. There is light wear to the silvery gold glatt exterior.
As with any hand blown glass, there may be bubbles, sand and ash deposits present, formed during the manufacturing process. The vase measures approximately 10" tall x 5" wide, neck 2" wide.
