    Sonar RTU and Duckweed
Many pond owners consider duckweed to be their toughest aquatic weed problem. Duckweed is a very common nuisance aquatic weed that is spread from pond to pond via waterfowl or other wildlife. While it is commonly mistaken for algae, duckweed is actually a tiny plant with an explosive reproductive capacity that can completely cover a pond in just a few weeks to the point that the infested waterbody resembles a golf-course green. Fortunately, no other aquatic herbicide is more effective on duckweed. Sonar provides complete, long-lasting control of duckweed and other stubborn unwanted aquatic vegetation.
    How Sonar RTU Works
    Plant uptake of Sonar
Sonar RTU manages undesirable aquatic weeds for a year or longer and is recommended for use in water bodies with soft or muck bottoms. Sonar RTU contains 5% fluridone in an easy-to-use liquid formulation that is applied straight from the bottle. Sonar works by stopping photosynthesis, which robs target plants of their ability to make food. Target plants turn white and gradually die over a period of six to twelve weeks. Unlike other aquatic herbicides, Sonar has no restrictions for swimming, fishing, boating or livestock use, even immediately after application. Check the label for irrigation precautions.
Sonar is the world's leading brand of aquatic herbicide for the selective, long-term control of undesirable aquatic vegetation. With an unmatched dedication to advancing the science of aquatic plant management, researchers at SePRO Corporation have integrated fifteen years of laboratory research, field expertise and formulation innovation into Sonar RTU, the first Sonar product designed specifically for small pond and lake owners. Now you can benefit from time-tested application methods and materials developed by SePRO scientists all in one convenient package you’ll use right on your water’s edge.
    How to Apply Sonar RTU
Sonar RTU comes in a distinctive squeeze bottle that only requires the user to lift the nozzle on the lid and squirt the Sonar RTU directly into the water. Treating an entire lake or pond only takes a few minutes. After measuring the size of the water body, consult the rate chart included with each Sonar RTU purchase to determine the amount of Sonar required.
You’ll apply half of the total dose on day one, then return 21 and 42 days later to add the rest. Simply apply Sonar RTU at two to four locations around the water body each time and the unique formulation of Sonar RTU will disperse throughout the water.
