    This auction is for the original artwork by Jack Higgins for his Chicago Sun-Times editorial cartoon dated 1995. The artwork shows Newt Gingrich holding a sledgehammer with the caption "Picking Up The Gavel". This art was published in 1995, probably in January when Newt Gingrich became the Speaker of the House. The artwork measures approx. 11-1/2" x 14-5/8". This is the original artwork that Jack Higgins created. The artwork is in good condition - there are a few small marks/smudges - there are a couple small numbers written in the lower right corner of the border - there are some notes written by the editor along the left edge - you can see a few corrections as the artist crafted his work. A NICE, ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE OF EDITORIAL ARTWORK THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! When packed, this will ship at the 2 pound rate - check the postage calculator.
